Quantis shares experience from RESYNTEX assessment

Quantis, a RESYNTEX work package leader, has begun its evaluation of the environmental and cost performance of the project’s new recycling value chain. It will do so by means of life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC). The first findings were presented to stakeholders at the LCM 2017 conference in Luxembourg during September.

By combining the LCA and LCC approaches, it is possible for Quantis to analyse the linkages between environmental and economic performance, offering the possibility to investigate specific questions from a life cycle management perspective. The assessment’s first objective will be to compare the RESYNTEX concept to a reference situation in Europe and to identify potential benefits. The second objective consists of supporting the value chain optimisation by assessing alternative scenarios using key parameters which influence the overall project performance.

RESYNTEX is a revolutionary project because of its various stakeholders and because it is a pioneer in the transition process of other industries towards a more circular economy.
